We are a non-profit organization (in process of registering) providing free public access phones!

PghTel mission is to offer free public access phones within the city of Pittsburgh & the Greater Pittsburgh Area. Old payphones will be refurbished & retrofitted to enable completely free-to-use calls to almost any number within the United States.

Additionally, we will provide voicemail to users of the service.

PghTel was established in January 2026. We are working on installing our first phone and hope to have 12 phones installed by the end of 2026.
